Arukah (אֲרוּכָה) is the Hebrew word for healing and restoration. Scripture uses it to describe new flesh growing over a wound and the breaches of a broken wall being closed (Jeremiah 30:17, Nehemiah 4:7).

Today, one of the deepest breaches in our communities runs between generations. Our elders grow weary and need the strength of the young, while our youth need the knowledge and wisdom only their elders can give. The Arukah Foundation exists to close that gap. We train and empower young people to serve the elderly in their community, and through that service the light of Christ breaks forth, just as God promised in Isaiah 58:8. This is the way it was always meant to be.

“The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head.”
Proverbs 20:29
